Our health care team is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our clinic strictly adheres to or exceeds our provincial standards for infection control using personal protective equipment, hospital grade disinfectants and practising up-to-date sterilization protocols. In response to the potential spread of disease our dental team is following the guidelines and protocols released by the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, WorkSafeBC and the BC Center for Disease Control. Our Dental team has received training and instruction on safe work procedures, appropriate use of personal protective equipment and new office policies are in place.

Safety Protocols:

  • Patients are screened for signs and symptoms of illness when scheduling and upon arrival. Patients will be asked to reschedule if considered ill to prevent spread of disease and protect our patient and staff.
  • Employees like patients are screened for signs and symptoms of illness daily. We follow the recommendations of the BC Centre for Disease Control and WorkSafeBC guidelines for self-isolation when an employee is sick. We support access to primary care, assessment and testing and provide sick leave to keep patients and staff safe.
  • We continue our high standards of disinfection of all clinical areas, high touch areas (door handles, chairs, desktops, countertops and their fixtures) and common areas including the waiting room reception area, staff room and restrooms.
  • To reduce aerosols, we will continue to use isolation techniques such as a dental dam during dental procedures. We will be increasing use of the high-volume evacuation wherever possible.
  • Our safety protocols will be updated as needed and to reflect the guidance of our regulatory bodies and provincial health experts.

We look forward to continuing seeing you and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your patience as we adhere to these safety protocols.

Sincerely,

Dr. Walter Sokolowski and his Dental Team
